 Post subject: Poison Zon advice please.

Never really play zons. I was just curious as to what would the best skills to max after poison skills? I'm assuming decoy/valk? Or is there a better combination? Appreciate all advice.

yes, decoy and valk. i actually put 10 in decoy before the 3rd psn skill.

As did I, and then I maxed decoy before putting any in valk. Considering your decoy is your only real tank, you might as well help yourself out when running through the game lol.

EDIT: don't forget not to put points in dodge/avoid/evade if you don't want dodge lock on your zon. But I also one pointed a bunch of those other skills.

Personally I I like penetrate and must go thru dodge/avoid to get there. I don't have much trouble with dodge lock even during boss fights. Other than that I agree with these guys.

if you get in to melee as a psn zon then you're probably fucked anyway so might aswell get dodge/avoid to get pierce.

you dont need dodge/ avoid for pierce you can skip them, but it makes your decoy double as effective at least, I like it after putting 1 in each. shouldn't be meeleing as a psn zon anyway

Dodge and avoid literally make the class. Without them you're going to take infinitely more damage from everything and your decoy will be a pussy.

I have no points into the dodges. Tat does just fine again everything and my Decoy tanks Baal Waves no problem. They aren't needed.

I'm missing something. Since when does decoy get dodge/evade? It's not like it's on skill decription nor in skill.txt. HM?
Dodge on psn amas won't hurt you as much as on dexzons. you throw this once per 7 secs anyway .

I was with you Steel - I thought it was only a graphical display and didn't actually get the skills, but the Arreat Summit disagrees:

Problem is it doesn't even have dodge animations or sounds.
Dodge gets res (2x skill lvl) and in fact a valkyrie had dodge/avoid skills in 1.10. I'm not so sure about a decoy tho.
edit: maybe srvdofunc 15 gives them all your skills.
edit2: tested in pvp. barb was hitting decoy almost every blow.
edit3: well summons life is kinda buggy in pvp. Added a small charm with psn dmg to see if decoy is actually being hit(turning green). it was while ama was dodging every hit. I tested it on realm.

Decoy definitely gets it, I saw a gigantic difference in lower levels when I didn't skill dodge/avoid and when I did.

Dodge and avoid essentially do you the favor of keeping you alive, and if you're frightened of getting dodge locked, most hits you get scraped by are going to put you in fhr anyways so you might as well take the damage away.

Also helps a ton when soloing LoS, gives you nine lives against fohs and GAs that 1 hit.

for now I'll call it placebo, unless 66% to avoid fails every single time when I'm hitting it with by barb - 1hit ko with wpn on.

simple test, set dodge evade and avoid to 100% as a 1 pointer. If the valk can be hit, it don't get DEA

so if a hell quill rat takes 5 shots to kill it once. zonny has 1 defense, and 0 into every other skills,

if it dies all the time, there is no dodge, if hit misses either 95% chance to hit missed 5 times in a row, or dodge works.

or glitch idk.

afaik this has always worked with decoys, but idk on this realm

decoy dies every time. (~ 25 tests where decoy got 1 shotted) dodge ect doesnt work with decoy on sp.

still worth having on a poison zon - much like the mystile on ff7 :D
