if i remember correctly no but prayer rings do stack. But also search forums there was big long post about this with ppl like blue and rages input search function ftw!!

There was a test on a pally prayer that showed heal from insight + heal form a medit ammy did stack

Don't know if this applies to A2 merc auras tho.


prayer on equip rings don't empower meditation


Prayer on equip rings stack in 2 ways(or so I heard, correct me if i'm wrong):
a lv 6 ring and a lvl 7 prayer ring stack separately as 2 prayers pulsing separately (45 + 47)=92 heal pulse
lvl 7 and a lvl 7 ring stack as lvl 14 prayer of 60 heal pulse.

This was the mechanism behind dreamer palas power several ladders ago.

pretty sure it wasn't sarcasm, medi is insane for an ES sorc, before the chaos sanctuary map corners were removed you could park him and trap him behind a corner and tank big red for fun. There are other really nice options but for ES, its awesome. You might want to go heavens will though on an act 3 cold merc. the prayer wont really be helping you much but it gives you the option of being a tele merc bitch with GG es for light immunes. act 2 merc cant deal with bosses like an a3 can with someone teleporting him around.

Up to you really. I think i'd likely use act 3 cold (holy freeze + medi and awesome secondary damage source. yes please)

Don't neglect faster hit recov on the merc.
I find lack of it is what usually kills A2 mercs outside of 1 shot deals.

Treachery or Stone rw's are good candidates outside of high end gear (resists permitting) imo. Treachery also has a hefty ias allowing more life leech but stone has more resists.

Insight is awesome on A2 mercs for 2 main reasons:
1. Gives you GG mana back<--mai reason
2. Critical strike for your merc, increasing his dps. Just be sure to make it in a eth wep for full effect.

Only thing that your merc needs then is only some life leech (elemental set is nice for merc res, absorbs and some 12% LL. Oh, and also 20% life increase for the merc-o-tank).

Half joking I'd recommend death gloves/belt for poison resists goodness (lacking from ele set), extra LL, ias and resists. Good crafts/rares can be also a option until endgame gear.

A2 mercs wielding giant thresher has 75 and 142 ias breakpoints for 5.5 and 5 fpa respectively (http://diablo3.ingame.de/tips/calcs/wea ... ng=english)
Treachery: 50 ias
Death belt/glov: 25 ias

Bam!, you just hit second to last ias BP.

Frames .....FHR % for A2 mercs, vanilla D2, but should also apply to HU me thinks (blue?)

With just treachery your merc is squarely into 8 frames hit recov. Add another item with fhr (helm/boot) and he'll be a happy camper.

ya i usually use ele set, i have a eth 15ed giant thresher insight RW now, COa, tyraels, wsg, and shadow dancers for more dr% frw, or treks, then dracs for life tap.
looks like with that gear i have no ias lol but plenty of fhr

ty though for breakpoints

even with his insight i get two hit killed by mana burn mobs if i tele into the wrong way/pack. i think i need more fhr on my sorc but no one has 12 fhr high mana gcs!
