Hello,

Currently my bear merc is half fire mage and half physical.
His equipments are:
1. Crafted helm for defense aura or Dragonhead hydraskull for meteor proc and -fire resist and + fire% damage
2. Dark fear body for firewall proc
3. elemental set rings and amu for resist and some procs and - fire resist, + fire% damage
4. ETH hydra edge with uber rubies for proc and -fire resist
5. lavagout glove for procs and + fire% damage
6. medusa gaze for LR spell on struck.
7. decent resist vigor boots
8. Worldstone granite for shockwave proc, -%damage reduce, and all resist

So far its working allright. I can take physical immune and lightning immune (me being lvl 98 lightningZon) named mobs just fine because of the fire damage generated from the merc.

I do have a few questions because I want to improve the fire damage generated from my merc:

1. Holy fire aura (lvl 20) from hand of justice, will it do -20% (or -? %) enemy resistance on top of the LR spell from medusa gaze shield or my ardual amulet?
2. Will - fire resist from my merc equipment works on enemy that's being hit from the procs from my merc equipments (either on struck or striking)?
3. Will + fire% damage from my merc equipment works on enemy that's being hit from the procs from my merc equipments (either on struck or striking)?
4. If a mob got hit by LR spell from the medusa (lvl6), then the next frame my ardual LR spell (lvl3) hit that same mob, will the level 6 LR replaced by Level 3 LR?
5. Any othe equipment suggestion for my merc?

1: it's -10 but yes it will stack
2: yes
3: yes, it's applied to the merc's proc's
4: yes it will be replaced

a3 cold merc will rape more than ur merc being a psn zon

Phoenix is a wonderful item as firestorm works extremely well for mercs and the redemption helps to keep him alive:

Vex Ohm Lo (shields or weapons)
+300% Enhanced Damage

does "Stone" armor still come with charges of moulten boulder? would make a nice combo for a firestormer merc with armageddon in an eth zerker

Can you elaborate more on this?
I don't quite understand a few things.
1. Can my merc using the "stone" armor and cast moulten boulder? can my merc using the "armageddon" zerker axe cast armageddon? as far as I know, we can't force a merc to do any oskills or charged skills. If we can set up so that merc uses "oskills" and "charged skills" that would be awesome.


I do have a few other questions.

2. Does the fire aura from hand of justive (lvl 20) stack up with the aura from "dragon" (lvl 12) and become level 32? (let's say that I use hand of justice sword, and dragon shield)

3. as far as damage, i thought that level 33 storm damage suck compared to lvl 30 meteor from hand of justice (in addition to holy fire lvl 20 aura) right?
another alternative for weapon is "destruction" for lvl30 volcano, lvl 40 molten boulder, and lvl 40 nova. which one do you think will work the best for my merc.

4. Let's say that I have A3 fire merc, then he's equipped with hand of justice. what will be his total -enemy fire resist? and my attack also affected from this total -enemy fire resist right?

5. For immune monsters(including bosses), to break it's immunity, the LR works at 1/5 of it's listed value. I assume this also works with the a3 -20% resist (effectively only -4%) and from hand of justice -10% (effectively only 2.5%). Assuming they all stack, that means to break diablo's fire immune (listed as 125%) I will need 26%.....which means I will need total of -104% fire resist right?
That's pretty much impossible to do unless probably with a necro with maxed LR + paladin + merc aura.

I hope you guys can I understand what i'm asking here.

the charges of moulten boulder synergise the ctc firestorm on the shield. It was the basis for a very old build when armageddon had charges of level 50(?) armageddon. That + stone armor, + maxed fissure on a fury druid used to make an amazing proc based build

Very nice. I guess I should be looking for items with + fire mastery to further improve my merc fire damage.

As for my other questions, you guys got any comments or answers?
