I am going to show you some tips how to find the right ways in many Places of D2.
Based on the Infos of a post in a german D2 forum

all ways are based on Vanilla but most should work in HU too.

Entrance -> Exit

Act 1:
Underground Passage lvl 1: straight
Tower Cellar lvl1-4: left side
Jail lvl 1+2: straight
Jail lvl 3: left side
Catakombs lvl2 WP -> Exit: right side

Act 2:
Sewers lvl 1: near the entrance at the Harbor
Sewers lvl 2: straight
Sewers lvl 3: left side
Halls of the Dead lvl 1-3: linksrum
Maggot Lair lvl 1+2: straight
Maggot Lair lvl 3: North-East
Claw Viper Temple lvl 1: left side
Tal Rasha's Tomb: left side

Act 3:
all "holes" (Swampy Pit lvl1+2, Flayer Dungeon lvl1+2): left side
Durance of Hate lvl 1: left side
Durance of Hate lvl 2: straight

Act 5:
Cristalline Passage -> Frozen River: straight
Frozen River Entrance -> Glacial Trail: right side
Glacial Trail: left side
The Ancietn's Way: left side
Worldstone Keep lvl2 WP -> Exit: right side
