Interesting to see that the ladder has reset and to see the new website. Nice heh.

Anyways, looking for a sorc build.

I got another higher level char to provide some decent items. This char will remain higher level than the sorc, so there will usually be some availability of uniques for her. I will play her when I have the time and I'm not playing other chars, so she is a secondary priority to play than the other chars.

A very important condition is that she will play unrushed through the game. I have found on other chars that usually a capable tank is needed for act bosses, which is why my main char is a barb , and have decided to make a sorc as a viable damage char to play the game through.

Long term I would like her to be able to farm some uniques and runes from easier A5 Hell bosses, I do not want her to be a superb farmer but to just farm decently solo.

Now for the sexy one.

The main obstacle seems to be act bosses, especially the later ones, so to end them I want the sorc to do good boss damage throughout most of the game on most bosses with different AI.

Summing up, I would like;
- Good boss damage most of the time
- Mediocre farmer
- Single-element(duo-element is fine, but not a priority)

Not having played a sorc much, I think these are the builds that are relevant:
- Meteor/fireball
- Blizzard/Ice Blast or Glacial Spike
- Lightninng/Chain Lightning/Charged Bolt

I know little about strength of sorc builds, so the final sum up and question.

What are your experiences with these 3 sorc builds throughout the game especially on bosses and to a lesser degree late-game farming?

i played 2 x 99 sorc at bnet and many lvl 9x hc


i can say ( in HU ) and what i see... blizzard deals the most of dmg u can fuck most of shit with it ( if its not OP 100% cold immune )


for Farming still good - CL - Orb - Nova - ice Nova


but if u want a powerfull sorc make a Blizzard one shes really good and good enough to fuck diablo if its not a poison necro there

blizzard looks quiet nerfed with mediocre synergies.

orb sorcs manage ok...see Freya. Also frost nova sorcs seem to manage ok, never seen one vs. a boss mind you.

Light sorcs also has the option of nova/static/TS... clears trash amazingly fast, so/so on bosses (dont try meph tho lol).

Fire sorcs, blaze is clearly the biggest DPS, Met/FB still looks to be a very feasible option though.

my 2c worth of observations.

meteor far out damages blizzard. for farming in a5 hell its alot alot better since there are less fire immunes there. with blizz, most things are cold immune in a5. the chill effect makes blizz safer for soloing though

Meteor/blizz are both average at farming. If you want a farmer then a light sorc is the way to go. tk is good on bosses and charged bolt owns all trash so thats probs your best option.

as far as experiance with sorcs goes. I had a static/nova sorc last season that was an amazing farmer. (theres a guide on here somewhare). I took her right up to lvl 100. This season I had a meteor sorc I took to level 90 and she was a fantastic boss killer, she died due to human error (canine error in actual fact) against hell sarina tho. She was by far the best boss killer sorc i've ever played, and i`ve played alot of sorcs here. (its my most played class)

to sum up, cb/tk is great against trash and great against bosses, meteor is even better against bosses but a little worse against trash. blizz gets the added chill effect thats good and adds some safety to the build. for sheer output meteor is ahead of it but the lack of chill effect can make it risky

my vote would probably go meteor sorc, I think she has the most potential in all situations, although I am very unfamiliar with Telekenisis sorcs so they might outshine meteor. Kinda doubt it though.
