A solid tank is probably what I need most. I have 20 rabies, oak, and psn vine. 1pt other vines.

Should I max bear? Max normal wolves? I heard they're good for quick recasts, but I assume a boss is raping them in 1 shot every time.

Cyclone armor probably sucks w/o synergies. Nothing else in the elemental tab is appealing.

I saw Blue's post on Fury or caster hybrid for immune. Can I get elemental attacks strong enough to matter while wearing rabies gear? I hear melee sucks later on, so that makes me want to shy away from Fury.

Is there an HU skill calc? I'd like to be able to throw in points and see what bear hp would be like.

Most bosses can actually be kept perma tanked by repeat casting summons like blades or wolves. Even those annoying teleporting bosses before every act boss can be controlled to some degree. Iirc maxed wolves can tank a hit from almost any boss which should allow enough recast time.

Also great for casting into rooms ahead of you. Chargers target them and you dont die.

So maybe wolves then max lycanthropy?

20 Rabies
20 Carrion Vine
20 Lycan
20 Oak

Wolves are one point wonders, I doubt they get imba to the point of taking two-hits like a necro blade does, but I'm not sure.

I'd put the rest in Fury, personally, and run a high dps switch for poison immunes.

melee only has a hard time against bosses due to the stacked phy immune issue. Against random monsters, champs and some sub bosses, you will do just fine, especially if you can proc amp/decrep with some weapon like Reapers Toll or Exec Justice.

You don't fury bosses, you fury mobs. It'll work fine against isolated mobs, which should be pretty much only the physical immunes. Rabies should handle just about everything though.

Could you but no points in vines and use

+100-160 Defense vs. Missiles
8-12% Life Stolen per Hit
Poison Resist +50-60%
10-20% Damage Taken Goes to Mana
-10% to Enemy Poison Resistance
Level 20 Carrion Vine (20 Charges)
+20 to Poison Creeper (OSKILL)
5% Chance to Cast Level 30 Poison Nova when Struck
12% Chance to Cast Level 20 Twister when Striking

Would that work as the synergy? And you would have 20 more points for fireclaw or cold etc.

no.
we changed it to oskill to prevent it from being used as a synergy.

added note, if the oskill is a skill from your tree(meaning a skill from that specific char and you are that char) it will only provide +3 at most. not to be confused with +skill(char only)

I'd recommend against putting points into druid summons. (beyond 1 pt) You're better off gearing yourself as a tank. I'd go for 20 rabies, 20 creeper, 20 oak, 20 lycan, 20 bear. 1 pt maul/feral/fury is plenty of dmg for the poison immune trash (with a nice weapon). Lycan and oak give you a bunch of hp's. Bear takes care of defense etc. A rabies/fire or rabies/cold druid is junk. You'll just end up gimping yourself. Between fury and your merc, poison immunes should be no problem. Spirit wolves don't get strong enough to tank bosses like spirit blades do. Bear is dead very fast on bosses as well and has a huge delay which can mess you up for re-casting oak.

What about stacking up on -poison resist? Does that mod from gear help Rabies against poison immunes?

Also why not max out Poison Creeper to give Rabies some insane damage via synergy? Or is Rabies so high in damage all ready, that the synergy isn't necessary? I have a level 24 Rabies Druid right now with about 10+ points in Poison Creeper, and at level 20 began going straight into Rabies. I figured Rabies to be more of a hit n' run style of play, versus spamming Rabies on a single target until it dies.

Is that a bad move? I haven't seen this mod's mid-end game material or gear. My level 56 Sanctuary Paladin is my highest character >_>

You can check out the gear at blue.arimyth.com

What order do you guys put the points in. I maxed carrion to start thinking it would be a bit more effective. It's good however and that combined with a set and some other pieces kills pretty good. I'm lvl 40 ish now however and am maxing oak, now I'm starting to notice it getting hard to kill. Do I mix points between oak and rabies at this point? Or should I just jack up rabies?

I'd say Vine until you get Rabies. One point in Oak as soon as you can. Max Rabies, then vine, then oak.

After that I moved onto lycan and Fury. I think I might be regretting Fury and wish I had done bear.
