Leap attack. It looks like the synergies on leap attack are crazy awsome. Is this a good skill? Or does the skill +dmg not go up very fast as u level it?

Leap attack will do awesome damage. The problem is often targetting your attack and attacking repeatedly with it. The end result is that you attack pretty slow.

Consider this: Leap attack does 100k dmg, but you can only hit a monster 1 time every second due to logistics. In contrast, you have a frenzy attack that does 20K but is able to hit 5 times per second. Both end up doing the same amount of damage over time.

The sporadic dmg aspect of the skill can also make it hard to consistently life leech.

That being said, I have heard that "Frog Barbs" are pretty fun - especially if you find green armor for them :)

I was thinking about building one for fun. Which weapon shout I use? Which two handed weapon has consistantly higher damage? Because of course I woud want to max a mastery. Unless u cannot critical leap attack?

Highest max damage would be from a spear or a polearm I think, best average, with alot of good choices and cb on pretty much everything is maces.

That's awsome I'll use a polearm. Screw making things green and being a frog barb. I'll make everything purple and make it a dragoon from the final fantasy series lol

yeh you can critical strike and deadly strike a leap attack. Mass strength would be the way here I would say personaly. Since your attacks will be somewhat slow you want the damage waaaay up there, ww for trash to leech quickly perhaps.

I am thinking about a Leaper barb as a next char too, it may be good against bosses I guess. The knockback could be fun as well against hordes. :)

In normal d2, thunder mauls and war pikes were the strongest weapons, not sure about it here, but I don't think it has changed much. If you go with mauls, you could even use the IK set, if you want to and can get one.

I was thinking that too but then pikes "spear" require dex and strenght to up the damage. Were as pole arms only require str to up the damage, therefor giving u high str for armor and extra points to use for vitality. But I'm no expert I would like some help also choosing the best type of weapon for leap attack

the boots to damage from strength by using 2 handed mauls is fantastic. Like you say, 50/50 dex/str is abit of a pain

you can gamble a maul in act 2 easily. even act one if you get lvl 20ish first. dont really matter what weapon type you use to start with, you will wanna max inc stamina and bo first anyway with just a few in leap attack and 1 in mastery.

I never really understood the point in wasting one point into find item or potion when there's always a helm u could flop on that has a couple skills in either when u want to find item/potion lol
