I remember back on Battle net, I was told to use it late game with a high level character for a really high defence armor, (I never did) and I was wondering, is that useful in HU?
I've always ignored the quest reward as lame, but can it be useful?

It's good for eth weapons you might want to roll or circlets/coronets/tiaras etc to roll.

Was a very handy quest back when the game was first developed, it's pretty much extinct now especially in this mod. People used to trade there imbue quests back in the day.

i remember in the old classic days.
if i remember correctly, imbue quest is based purely on Ilvl not char lvl. we used to rush chars just for their imbues and imbue bh's and nagas lol.
but yeah could be handy in this, im not sure if eth items remain eth though after imbueing? but like said above, could always do a coronet.

It is still pretty good for:
1. Getting an eth bow for zons. A good rare eth bow can be great if you don't have tons of gear to twink and even if you do have tons to twink. Rather than wait for one to drop, just imbue a white eth and presto - happy days.
2. Imbue a merc weapon. Similar story to as above. Since merc weapons don't use durability, you can give them an eth weapon and let them have fun.
3. Rolling a circlet. Although I personally think it is easier to just gamble one, you can use your quest to imbue a circelt that can then be "rolled" with adament glphys until you get +3 of your desired skill tree.
4. Create a powerhouse late game weapon. Imbue an eth zerker or whatever and then zod it late game for the massive +%Enhanced Damage
5. Imbue a sorc/necro wand. A good rare 3 square sorc orb can be pretty powerful - so its not bad to imbue one.
Still a useful quest in my opinion. Beats the "this magic ring does me no good...."

Nothing is worse than second hand crappy rings. Might use it for a circlet, should I wait for an elite one if it only depends on ilvl?
Thanks for the replies btw.
