Im wondering a few things about the A3 merc. Im playing a poison necro and I read that it has an aura that gives - psn resist. (same appearance as sanctuary?)
Does it work if u have a paladin with conviction in the party (I know they dont stack)?
When is the best time to hire one, and can I do anything to avoid him from using poison skills?

1) Yes, the P&Bone merc's aura gives -20%PoisRes to the enemy, according to the text files. This might be -10% on the servers (like all the HolyAuras), but I don't think anyone has tested. The pulse damage on this aura is nearly zero, so it will never override your poison damage (only strongest poison goes into effect)
2) Conviction is an unrelated aura, so Conviction and the -PoisAura can affect the same monster. Keep in mind that Conviction doesn't affect poison.
3) There is nothing you can do to avoid the merc using his one poison skill, but it won't affect you anyways because your poison is stronger. If you hire him in NM or Hell, then he is slightly less likely to use his poison skill (he'll cast BoneSpirit instead).

Aside from that, the A3 P&Bone mercs are quite good in Norm, decent in NM, but mostly useful for their -PoisAura in Hell. Their magic damage is similar to a Bone Necro, but the merc won't have the stunningly powerful gear in Hell that allows a Bone Necro to be effective. Their BoneArmor spell helps them survive hits quite well compared to the other A3 mercs. The fact that this is the only A3 merc with an aura that helps the player (poison dmg) rather than himself (magic dmg) is unique, and makes him an ideal merc for most poison characters that can't handle pois immunes or feel that their damage output against trash is a bit low (A3 mercs generally don't survive long in Boss battles).

Does the mercs aura pierce immunities? Or only decrease the resis? Then it piece it are there mobs that have more than 103 Resi without counting the boss monsters?
