It won't work. There is only 1 viable barb build right now. Max iron skin, BO, stamina, resistance.(MDR/PDR) Put 1 into conc, dump all ur stats into vita. Druid might work if u go rabies or fireclaw. |

The bear would have the advantage of a strong secondary elemental attack, whereas the barb is stuck with pretty much just zerk. High str wolf is also a choice as you have fury to utilize. |

Yea I want to do pure str only like 25 in vit cause everyone keeps saying melee chars pretty much suck but I dont think their using the new ed they get from str now. Just not sure wat would be better ww barb,maul bear, or fury druid |

choosing pure str build isn't good choice now you wouldn't do any more damage than average tank barb w/o strong amp. Try to keep it balanced, like 300 str, 200 vita with more push on vita early. |

It doesn't matter if you have 500000 strength, you will still not break relevant bosses PI (where our new skill charms are), even with atmas scarab. Barbs are already bad at trash, so just make a ele char instead and have the bonus of being useful BTW don't forget about teamwork, since you will be terrible you need to leech off others to get anywhere. |

it was viable last season, so i imagine its viable this season (with good amp of course). my hc druid last season was 90% str, and functioned best when a necro provided top quality amp. i am tempted to build another melee and go 100% str just to prove a point. |

It should be if you had dedicated amp user and good amount of gc charms/crafts to cover lack of vita, so I'd not recommend it for someone new. So far I saw few barbs with 5vita or dins with maxed str and charge to deal huge damage in one blow, I guess maul should be better as you'd have like 400+% inc hp and dps allowing to leech, while leap barb or charge din hit and run. Also hp per vita on druids is very depressing :]. |

I think topics like this are great. Can it be done? Dunno - maybe it will totally suck. But to completely discourage people from doing it is just silly. Keep the human spirit of adventure alive and forage in to the unknown and just TRY things. I think some times people get so hung up on the "best" build for characters that they disregard every other option. Of course characters with life boosts will perform best at boosting their life, but that doesn't mean they can't do other things. |

my fury druid i went 200vit 450str w/ items and he SUCKS!! i had to leach off every nm boss, he would die faster then a caster. FAIL |

I wonder how good fireclaw/frostbite is this patch. I mean with all the rampant pierce from items you might be able to hit some good damage. Just a reminder to anyone making new chars, don't make physical it's currently broken, unless your a dexbowzon made for clearing tundra. Maybe for the next patch if you strength to be good, let strength give you physical pierce like in guild wars. 1% physical pierce every 5 or 10 points strength. Melees are made for boss fights, why nerf that out of them? |
