Currently level 50 running with a poizon and we've blown thru the game since act 2 with Decoy tank and the DPS. Just wondering what I should be looking for weapon wise have two Starstone Rubies and don't wanna throw em in a Magerock.

Several options:

1. Find a good white staff (+3 fireball, +3 meteor or something) and make a Leaf runeword to add +3 fireskills and get yourself a +6 whatever staff. Pretty handy.
2. Wisdom runeword in an orb (gives +2 sorc skills)
3. Crimson hellcast is slick - but doesn't drop anytime soon.
4. If you have the strength Hexfire is pretty nice. I wasn't strong enough to use it when it was useful.

Lots of other options - just paw around the items section: blue.arimyth.com

I'm a fan of 6-socketed crystal swords with my elemental caster builds. Just get Larzuk to socket a sword bought from Fara, and then toss gems in it for the -%Res. Using 6 Starstone gems would get you -48% enemy res. If you weren't a sorc, with massive +%Skill damage via Masteries, then runes like Tal could get you +48%Dmg, which is usually equivalent to +6Skills (assuming those +6 put you into Tier5 (level 28 and higher)), but available at a relatively low level and for a low cost.

The 6-socket sword is nice since it's so fast to get one made, but it's not inexpensive unless you can trade for the gems easily. Due to the current popularity of Diamonds, you could probably get a deal. Personally I'd be willing to give 3 rubies for 2 diamonds, no problem, but I'd trade 1:1 for other gems.

The alternative I'd vote for is Hexfire, since people occasionally keep them (i.e. you can trade for them pretty easily), and when socketed with a ruby it's really quite decent. It's not as strong as the 6 socket sword, but in each case you got what you paid for. I'm not a fan of the white staff or orb options since it can take ages to find a nice non-magic item.

Neither of the options I mentioned has Faster Cast Rate, but since your main skill has a cast-delay, FCRate gear is almost irrelevant to you.

I've found that +10% is actually worse than +1 to skills actually which struck me as weird but I tested it out with my ammy so ya and any idea if mithril will be able to reroll whites in the next update? The 6 Soc sword actually sounds good for bosses instead of the -10 Level 40 orb I was gonna throw rubies in.
Also my Hdin runs Leoric so fast and gets like 200k per run gems aren't really a problem :D

Well you could also buy a nm orb - if you have a char that far - and do SS diamond crafts, high chance for skills and redemption aura. Orbs you can buy in every act, 3socketed in a5(?)

that's a nice one! If you get a zod, you may want to knock the wisdom runes out and replace them with the Thirst of Knowledge runes for an orb that nice

I wouldn't really recommend ToK to anyone these days with the conviction nerf. It's what, 25ish% at level 6? Pierce that low isn't even worth the runes, not to mention the low radius is bad news for a build like meteor.
