If a healing pally uses the lvl 90 scepter that gives prayer when ewuiped does that prayer combine with the paladins prayer even when the aura is not on. Like could I use conviction and use that scepter and still have a really strong prayer

im not totally sure about the prayer(it should tho) but there is equip that provides meditation, and that CERTAINLY gets bonuses from your prayer skill lvl

no, if you have level xx prayer on equip on a healer with maxed prayer, you will only get the heal from that prayer on equip. If you run prayer at the same time, the added healing will stack with your own prayer but the skill level wont.

Ie. You heal 200 per pulse with maxed prayer
you equip a ring with level 5 prayer on equip (not sure of the number on level 5 prayer but lets say 15 health per pulse)

if you run prayer you get 215 health per pulse
if you run conviction you get 15 heal per pulse.
if you run prayer and equip something with medi on equip you heal 415 per pulse.

In contrast, if you use something like a +3 prayer HOTO, you will raise your own prayer level and the gains are alot higher at higher levels.

@ blue, there is no synergy from holy bolt, holy bolt synergises prayer iirc.

mixed myself up there. Prayer synergises holy bolt is what i meant

Edit: Also, the medi on equip items will gain the healing bonus from the highest instance of prayer from the same source. even with the scepter + 2 prayer rings, it wont be as much as higher level player prayer + medi

interesting, so it doesnt matter how many prayer auras you have stacked up via gear, medi will take solely from your prayer SKILL(assuming its max, of course)?

so if you have 2x lvl 8 rings it will add the pulse of lvl 16 prayer to the pulse of the prayer you run?
so lets say lvl 16 is 40 and ur own prayer pulses for 100
when you equip the rings and run prayer it will pulse for 140?
and if somebody else wore rings also pulse for 180?
i understand medi will still pulse for 100

iirc there was a bug in d2 1.10 when you had the same lvl on aura on different items it stacked, ie dream wpn/hat was 40lvl holy shock. So 2x 5lvl prayer rings = 10lvl prayer If I'm correct. but 5lvl + 4lvl is as it should, not 9lvl.

Ye, medi gets a "heals: +xxx" value from the highest prayer, self heal and team heal from prayer isn't added to that, on low lvl prayer these values are higher than "heals"

prayer and thorns are unlike other auras in the sense that they will stack. So if 2 players are running prayer rather than the highest aura winning out - the two stack.
