Post subject:  Smite Low Damage
I'm lvl ~60 paladin smite, I enjoyed the build in a1-3 but since a4 and 5 I feel like i'm dealing really too low damage, but I don't know how i could improve this. I mean, okay if i stack +skills i might be able to get something correct, but i'm supposed to tank, right ?

I thought a better shield would change it (i had like 12-16 smite damage one and picked a 16-20), but it just gave me like +20 damages ,_,

I maxed smite, put some points into defiance, almost maxed hs, and almost maxed fanaticism. I'm stucked at 650-1300 damages (with my best 'offensive' gear, meaning 0 absorb and ~60@) ; takes 6 hits to kill a single minion in p1.

u need pts in holy shield, that increases the base damage of ur shield

What base item shield are you using?
Level 74 is the level requirement of the first Paladin Elite shield, Sacred Targe.

Hopefully you are using at least a Akaran Targe, Akaran Rondache, or Protector Shield. Your skills are in the right place.

Some other important mods to look for.
+Damage on weapon adds to smite damage. ex.( +30-40 damage mod) Not enhanced damage though.
Prebuff your Holy Shield with some +skill weapon and shield on switch.

Edit:
Look at Ith runes. They appear to provide the mod that adds to smite damage. And maybe Sol runes.

try get asterons iron ward unique cadecus or whatever, but ya without CB and grief smite kinda sucks atm imo, try and get atmas for ctc amp i as well if ur solo
