Hey so I have a couple questions with my mercs. The first, I decided to switch from and eth rare that had 683% ED (cuz of the jewels) to a 500 ED breath of dying because it says that it adds 500 Ed to demons and Undead. I thought that meant and extra 500 so against demons the bow does 1000% ED. Am i wrong in this thinking? Lastly my bro is having trouble with his A2 merc and is considering switching. What level might does his merc have at 98 and is there any way to get the merc to survive more. thanks |

nope - +Enhanced Damage against Demons/Undead is counted similar to skill or off weapon damage, so it won't give you +1000% Enhanced Damage. |

depends what equip the a2 merc is using. For survivability at that level try this. ice runeword ghost glaive spirit ward shield with skulls elemental set jewelery nos coil war/tyraels/glassglare armor (i prefer glassglare) mancers gloves and boots CoA with rubys/ber runes/diamonds thats +9 to all skills, easy max dr% and res. + good absorb |

Hey thanks for the prompt reply. I just got one last question. So what does the off hand 500% damage to demons mean. The runeword gives me loads more attack speed but straight damage i lose about 3 to 4k compared to my eth rare. Will the 500% make up the diff when i am fighting demons or undead or did I just waste a zod jah? |

You can answer that question now with the damage calculator I put together: http://blue.arimyth.com just enter in your 500% ED and you will see the impact in damage that it makes. |

Question. My char screen displays completely different values than what the calculator shows. Example, Bloodraven bow, 500 dex, 300 ed off fort and 18min/max(3x ko's in bow) shows my dmg to be 10k to 40k. My char screen shows much, much lower as in 4k to 18k strafe. What gives? |

What are you using for the base values of the weapon? It should be 20-80 because that is the value for a G.Matron bow. Don't be fooled in to using the values listed on the weapon itself. The values I plugged in are: Dex: 500 base min: 20 base max: 80 wpn %ED: 450 +min: 24 (each Ko should give +8) +max: 24 Dex modifier: 300 eth: 1 (if the bow is eth, change it to 1.5) off wpn %ED: 300 That gave me wpn dmg: 134 - 464 (this is what you should see on your bow) Additional dmg: 1900% Damage: 2546 - 8816 |

Incidentally, here are the values if you tossed Ohm's in that bow instead: wpn dmg: 150-600 Additional dmg: 1540% Damage: 2310 - 9240 A lot less Additional dmg, but the higher wpn dmg makes a much bigger impact. Now of course you just need to get the jewels or ohms. |

I noticed early on after using it somethings are displayed at reduced values. Such as UM runes giving 16 res in helms and armor as opposed to showing 20 res on critterkiller when used in helms and armor. I think the real culprit is the transition from 1.21 to 1.21z (found here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=596). 1.21z was a "quick patch" that requires -direct -txt to be in the shortcut to make it work rather than being a full update. In 1.21z Soulmancer tweaked the rune values a bit and Critterkiller's never got thoroughly updated, so there are a few errors here and there. |
