In a recent post, it came up that the reported spells for the Iron Wolves have changed from what is reported on Blue's site. As a result, so have the synergies and damage calculations. I've done my best to report them here. Feel free to double check the math. For calculation purposes, i am assuming the following: -0 base enemy resist -The LR aura on each merc is -20% (so i just boosted damage by 20% for all but Bone) -All skills are at level 20 for purpose of synergy, damage and mastery -Synergies are as reported by Blue's site for Sorc and Necro -Base Damage as reported by Blue's site (normal difficulty) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ First... Skills! There have been some changes Fire: Fire storm, Firebolt (replaced blaze), fireball, fire mastery, holy fire, Meteor (NM/Htll) Lightening: Charged Bolt, Lightening, Nova, Lightening Mastery, Holy Shock, Chain Lightening (NM/Hell) Cold: Ice bolt (replaces Ice Blast), Shiver Armor, Glacial Spike , Cold Mastery, Merc Freeze, Blizzard (NM/Hell only) Bone: Teeth, Bone Spear, Bone Armor, Prime Poison Nova, Merc Poison, Bone Spirit (has replaced Poison Nova) (NM/Hell only) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- NORMAL FIRE Fire Bolt: 1035 - 1414.5 Fire Ball: 3129.84 - 3732.9 LIGHTENING Charged Bolt: 159.39 - 174.57 (*22 bolts = ~3840max) Lightening: 18.48 - 5155.92 Nova: 325.6 - 440 COLD Ice Bolt: 862.5 - 1345.5 Glacial Spike: 2597.85 - 2960.1 BONE Teeth: 682 - 1089 (*21 teeth = 22870 max) Bone Spear: 1752 - 2550 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- NM/HELL FIRE Fire Bolt: 1863 - 2546.1 Fire Ball: 5514.48 - 6603.3 Meteor: 9806.28 - 10674.3 LIGHTENING Charged Bolt: 246.33 - 269.79 (*22 bolts = ~5935 max) Lightening: 32.56 - 9084.24 Nova: 325 - 440 (no synergies) Chain Lightening: 25.52 - 7860.16 COLD Ice Bolt: 1552.5 - 2421.9 Glacial Spike: 4329.75 - 4933.5 Blizzard: 8041.95 - 9577.89 BONE Teeth: 1302 - 2079 (*21 teeth = 43659 max) Bone Spear: 3212 - 4675 Bone Spirit: 4455 - 6050 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Final thoughts? -Damage got boosted for fire merc with firebolt adding to synergies. -Bone necro got boosted with bone spirit adding to synergies. Still suffers from having no way to pierce immunities. That said, monsters generally have less magic than elemental resists. -Conviction or other LR lowering skills will significantly improve all non Bone mercs. Feel free to weight in! |

Cold mercs don't have IceBlast, they have GlacialSpike. If you were looking at Hirelings.txt, then exclude all mercs with version 0 (D2 Classic). Teeth can't hit a target more than once, so mentioning that 21teeth * 1k dmg as 21k dmg is misleading. Similarly, a lightning IronWolf merc would sooner run (or die) if he were in melee range, rather than cast CBolt for the potential 4k dmg (22bolts * 180dmg). However, it's only misleading if someone actually expected it to happen to a single target, which hopefully isn't the case |

Glacial spike? Awesome. Boosts cold mercer a bit. I'll re run the calcs and edit. One more deviation from blue's it seems. |
