Certainly a good idea for building up some damage under a boss. Blaze leaves a trail graphically, but does not appear to do damage.

I tested via Infernostride in both WSK2 and Cold Plains. In both cases I tested by running around until Blaze was triggered, then I'd WW away from enemies and see if they took damage or made their usual sounds from taking damage. I tried WW over one spot many times to build the Blaze damage. I tried just running around normally to verify that the Blaze could hurt the enemy.

For me the most solid evidence was in ColdPlains, where enemies would die in about 1/2 a second from the Blaze if I walked to produce it. If I used WW to produce the blaze, I was followed by several monsters but they took no damage. When I stopped and walked a little they all died on that freshly placed Blaze.
