I'm now plaing fury druid solo normal. My stats:

I'm fighting ancients and in one second all my HP is gone and I'm dead. How is it possible? Ancients have some extreme big dmg? I have best unique gear I can find and use rejuv potions...nothing.

They hit extremely hard, especially the one that uses leap attack (Korlic). Your best bet against them would probably be gear with %damage reduction. If you're using a one-handed weapon, socket your shield with the highest grade skulls you can use. If you are using a two-hander, then look for String of Ears (unique demonhide sash), Rockstopper (unique sallet), and either Rockfleece or Silks of the Victor. You can definitely get all those in normal at your level.

If you don't mind running Nihlathak around 50 times, then a Lawbringer weapon will also help immensely.

I'd use oak in that battle. + Iunno I had a really easy time with ancients on my fury druid. - Aside from the big bad leaper.

if you are using HoW, switch to walk. your def is 0 when running and you will take ALOT more damage

What do You mean by that? When I Run or walk or stand in place my defence is the same...

no, when you are running, your def is zero, thats the downside to running. It's actually worse than 0 def since even with 0 def things have a 5% chance to miss you. When you run an enemy has a 100% chance to hit you (if you are in range)

Just so you know (your question hints that you don't) your character screen will not display any difference in your defense. However, Rage is correct - a running character will ALWAYS be hit by a melee attacker if within range, and if you have a shield your % chance to block drops by 75% (i.e. 75% of 75% chance to block is 19% chance to block). At least, I think that's how shields work - I'm certain on the defense reduction though :D

It's 1/3 of normal block, capped at 25%.
1) If you had 75% block, then running reduces it to 25%.
2) If you had 45% block then running reduces it to 15%.
3) If you had 120% block (capped to 75% on char screen) then running reduces it to 25%.

Just for the record, the speed difference between running and walking is just +2 yards per second for runners. It is a flat bonus unnaffected by FR/Walk. If you're running at like 1/2 a screen a second (about 9 yards), then walking (at 7 yards per second) that distance would take 1.3 seconds. You probably won't notice that difference, but your block reduction and defence reduction will be noticed.

Maybe a Blazer sorc would still prefer to run, since they're exceedingly hard to kill via melee when they're in their patches, and since FR/Walk is a pretty decent damage (or area) buff for them.

Thanks for the clarification Brevan, now that you mentioned it, I remember the 1/3 value. It's been a while since I've referenced the material :D
