Hi folks it's been a really long time since I've played some d2! I plan to play HC mode with several friends, I think I want to make a bone necro. A few questions I have:

Will bone prison/wall still agro mobs from 2 screens away?

I think I read that bone skills got buffed some, are they still total garbage in hell mode, or is it more viable now?

I think I remember doing 20 teeth 20 wall 20 prison 20 spear 20 armor, is this still pretty much the way to go?

1. Don't think it is 2 screens, but last I recall they do entice monsters to head your way.

2. They got buffed, but probably not in the right way. The problem is that -magic resists doesn't seem to function although I haven't ever personally tested that. As such, it is hard to boost up your dmg later in the game.

3. Just follow whatever the skill tree says. The end goal of skill placement isn't hard, the real trick is to figure out when to put what points where.

If you really want some fun, I would encourage you to play with some of the AI altering curses (confuse, attract, etc) since your dmg boosting curses don't directly impact your bone skills. Soulmancer of course gimped them when he flagged all sorts of things as champs, but it is still a refreshing change to play a character that way rather than the standard path. Might keep the game a little more enjoyable for you as you are a seasoned player.
