Hello realm!

Had the lingering to play me some D2 for the first time in years today, and I remembered how much I loved the mods. This mod has caught my eye. Unfortunately, due to internet restraints where I live, I can't play online.

So what kind of build is effective for the Solo mod? I'm very rusty on the game, but I know I'm not a huge fan of Sorcs and Zons.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, and I look forward to your help!

WW barb with one point in zerk will probably be your best bet.

There are plenty of builds that you can successfully use in the solo edition, especially with the recent difficulty reduction.

Possibilities:

WW barb with 1 point in Berserk (as already mentioned)
Shapeshifting druid (I'm currently playing a Frostbite Wearbear, lots of fun)
    Zeal paladin
Martial Arts assassin (weapon block + fade + CoS = pretty good tank, just no life buffs)
    Summon necro with CE

With all these characters, your best bet is probably an Act1 physical merc, as they have the potential to pump out huge damage and, for the most part, are intelligent (i.e. don't run into packs of death machines like Act2 mercs tend to). However, all mercs have their place, so it depends on your build/style.

Let us know what you're thinking of so we can start tossing out build ideas :)

Thank you all for the help!

I currently have a level 30 barb, and I just beat the juggernaut. Been playing a lot on /players8, except for bosses. I am going to go:

20 WW
20 Increased Stamina (this was a beautiful surprise: didn't catch the life bonus!)
20 Mace Mastery (seems like mauls are the way to go)
20 BO

Then I plan on going 1 into berserk and all masteries except Increased Speed, then pumping the rest into concentration, because this was the best boss killer in my other diablo experience.

This mod is amazing!

If you come across a couple Suicide Branch wands, keep them in your stash (a good use of 4 squares). 6000% thorns can be overpowered against some bosses like Leoric, Sarina, and Mephy. Just don't forget that if a boss dies from thorns, then they won't spawn portals.
